Went out with my husband and another couple for our anniversary to plum for supper and I can't say more than it was a fabulous evening...from the server to the other server who was the owner, service was fantastic and all courses were great..we enjoyed the cheese platter and beef carpaccio for appys and beef wellington and rack of lamb for entrees...from the appys to the entrees to the wine and the dessert this is bar none our new favorite Lethbridge upscale restaurant...can't say anymore other than exceptional choice to spend our special night to be greatly surprised with the amazing ambience, service and exceptional quality of food in such a small community!!

We are rarely disappointed and eat at plum often. If there is ever the tiniest concern with our meal, the friendly staff deal with it immediately in a courteous and polite way that encourages us to come back again and again - and we do!

We are regulars and are rarely disappointed. The friendly staff always take care of our special dietary requests and typically exceed all our expectations. As plum grows, they continue to raise the bar for Lethbridge dining. Count us fans for life!

My wife and I had good meals, although we both ended up choosing the rather predictable beef tenderloin, following warm beet and blue cheese salad (superb).
Plum is trying hard to be a top quality restaurant and the quality of the kitchen suggests that it achieve this soon, but I think that there are some deficiencies that need to be fixed. At the outset the waitress very apologetically informed us that the special first course was raw scallops marinated in lemon juice, as if this was so unattractive that we couldn't possibly want it. I said, Oh, you mean Civiche?, she said that she did, and that if we had it we might get a free glass of wine, or something. Hence the beet salad choice. The service was otherwise attentive, perhaps a bit too much. The biggest problem wasn't really Plum's fault we sat beside a table of six people, five of whom were quiet, but unfortunately one loudmouth thought that everyone should hear his clever remarks and made so much noise that we could hardly carry on a conversation. He seemed to be familiar to the ownership, because Jeremy spent a lot of time talking to this goon. He really spoiled for us, but that's the breaks I suppose. Another minor issue is that most of the tables were plain melamine plastic top, with no table cloth or even place mats. The dishes and cutlery were simply put on the bare tables.
I would rate this is very good for Lethbridge. There is still a way to go to make it excellent for anywhere.

Plum is probably the best upscale (entrees from $15 - 25) and somewhat innovative restaurant in Lethbridge (I would characterize the competition as 360, Miro Bistro, Ric's Grill, and perhaps the Keg or CocoPazzo). With regard to the food, Plum has a small menu that changes seasonally, so it is easy to exhaust the options. I have visited about 6 times, and everything I have had is excellent. The interior is small (about 6 tables) and attractive (I love the paintings of nude women, which is a holdover from the restaurant's previous incarnation). Service is excellent.

With regard to the competition, if you're just looking for steak, there are lots of options, but if you want something a little more inventive (such as lamb with a berry glaze), this is your spot. 360 is spotty -- the food can soar or suck with equal probability. Miro Bistro is not quite as creative, and a bit cheaper -- probably a better value. But if you want the best in town, I would suggest Plum.

I first found plum through their website, which is as equisite as the room itself. The staff was present but not intrusive, they allowed us to enjoy our meal and our conversation. The food was sublime! If they aren't already, they'll soon be known as the best food in Lethbridge. We met the two young chefs and they were polite and passionate. The owner was also there saying hello to everyone and even cleaning tables, which is nice to see. Afterward we weren't rushed out to make room for other people which was nice, even though it was very busy. I think they recognize better than other local restaurants what service truly is. The best thing was their chef's pantry which is a daily creation that is two or three courses that was fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced. I'm a vegetarian so the chef took the time to come out and discuss my needs personally so he could create something on the spot for me. I felt appreciated and not just a customer. My husband had the beef tenderloin and said it was probably the best complete meal he has ever had, period. We're cork dorks and loved the simple and ecletic wine list, especially since we often dine elsewhere (or used to at least, plum is our new home!) and find everyone's list very repetitive. Count us as fans - lounging or dining. The experience that is plum should not be missed!!
