Abyssinian Restaurant

Probably authentic however i found the food un-appitizing. Of the various dishes some were ok tasting however the wet bread used to pick everything up i did not enjoy.

Delicious food! Big servings though, and expensive prices, so best to go with a few people and share a communal platter! GREAT though.

I would recommend this place to absolutely ANYONE. I am never disappointed. There are limited choices of dishes, but all of it is just fantastic. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the service is cheery and helpful, and the chef is always willing to come out and talk to the customers. One of the best choices in Lethbridge.

Everything I have tried I have loved. They will accommodate you whether you like spicy or not. The food comes out quickly and is delicious.

Very good food! As good or better than restaurants in Vancouver or Toronto. Also authentic -- was in Ethiopia in 1995 and the selections match the food I had in cities from Addis to Lalibella! Betam turo!

Having availed myself of this Ethiopian dining experience in Lethbridge about monthly I would like to echo the complimentary comments by earlier reviewers!

My family and I lived in Ethiopia in the mid-1970's. We learned to really enjoy and appreciate Ethiopian food. So - when coming to Lethbridge in 1978 well, we had to wait until 2007 until the 'Abyssinian Restaurant' opened. Abe Jote and his wife, Mary - have established a fine dining niche for Lethbridge residents and visitors.

I agree with the other reviews. This is a superb place. Excellent food. Fantastic, family service. Good prices--too low, really.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. The food was delicious, the staff was wonderful and the atmosphere was terrific. If you are in the mood to try something new you have to check it out. I was worried it might be too spicy, but you can order it to your own preference. I will definitely go there again.
